Valentina Mombelli, studentessa che ha ultimato il suo III anno del nostro ITT e pronta piĂą che mail per il IV, ha vissuto intensamente la sua esperienza di scambio culturale presso il Bunbury Catholic College con sede in Australia. Ci racconta con il cuore le sue sensazioni:
🇬🇧”This experience will leave an undeniable mark on me. I was fully immersed in this opportunity because it’s not something that happens every day or to everyone. Of course, at times, it was also challenging, missing my home, my family, and my friends. This experience helped me distinguish which friendships are worth cultivating. The school is completely different, and I don’t think I can compare the two learning systems. In the first days, I was afraid of not making friends or not getting along with my host family, but fortunately, I met only fantastic people. With the host family, I felt like I was with my family again, and I will be immensely sorry to leave the role of the “older sister,” helping with homework, sometimes cooking, and playing with Millie and Louis. I’m going to miss all my friends and all the things we do together: going to watch the sunset at the beach, having chats, baking the cake I make every time we meet, and, of course, I’ll miss it when we sit in the sun during the school break.
In Bunbury, I found people ready to be your friends, your family, genuinely interested in exploring different habitats, or eager to learn some Italian recipes and cook Italian meals with you.
I’m bringing home all the new experiences, the new landscape I saw in those weeks, the host family, and the new friends, with the awareness of having lived and made the most of this time.”
🇮🇹 “Questa esperienza mi lascerĂ un segno innegabile. Ero pienamente immerso in questa opportunitĂ perchĂ© non è una cosa che succede tutti i giorni o a tutti. Certo, a volte, è stato anche impegnativo, mi manca la mia casa, la mia famiglia e i miei amici. Questa esperienza mi ha aiutato a distinguere quali amicizie vale la pena coltivare. La scuola è completamente diversa, e non credo di poter confrontare i due sistemi di apprendimento. Nei primi giorni avevo paura di non farmi amici o di non andare d’accordo con la famiglia che mi ospita, ma fortunatamente ho incontrato solo persone fantastiche. Con la famiglia ospitante, mi sentivo come se fossi di nuovo con la mia famiglia, e mi dispiacerĂ immensamente lasciare il ruolo della “sorella maggiore”, aiutando con i compiti, a volte cucinando e giocando con Millie e Louis. Mi mancheranno tutti i miei amici e tutte le cose che facciamo insieme: andare a guardare il tramonto in spiaggia, chiacchierare, cucinare la torta che preparo ogni volta che ci incontriamo e, ovviamente, mi mancherĂ quando ci sediamo al sole durante la pausa scolastica.
A Bunbury, ho trovato persone pronte ad essere tuoi amici, la tua famiglia, sinceramente interessate a esplorare diversi habitat, o desiderose di imparare alcune ricette italiane e cucinare pasti italiani con te.
Porto a casa tutte le nuove esperienze, il nuovo paesaggio che ho visto in quelle settimane, la famiglia ospitante, e i nuovi amici, con la consapevolezza di aver vissuto e sfruttato al meglio questo tempo.”
